Mothers employed by Georgia’s Ministry of Defence were on Friday hosted at a celebration for the countrywide public holiday of Mother’s Day and received presents from officials of the body.
Minister Juansher Burchuladze and Major General Giorgi Matiashvili, the Chief of Georgian Defence Forces, met mothers from large families who work for the state body at its Army Hall venue, the Ministry said.

They received presents and flowers from Burchuladze, who said meeting the employees was “one of the greatest honours”, and extended best wishes to them.
The celebration of Mother’s Day was established in Georgia in 1991 for promoting the understanding of the role of women in the family and their efforts in the upbringing of children.
