Patrol police service centre opens in Batumi to improve citizen access

The Patrol Police Department of Georgia’s Interior Ministry on Wednesday launched a “unified service centre” in the Black Sea city of Batumi to improve citizen access to police services.

The Ministry said residents would receive up to 50 services in a single space, from cancelling decisions on driving licence suspensions or replacing them with fines, to receiving lost and found licence plates, recovery of vehicles moved from special parking zones and more.

The venue is equipped with a visitor queue management system, electronic signature and information technology, as well as a system for receiving applications in electronic form, with the space also adapted for people with disabilities. 

Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri launched the service centre and visited the newly renovated building of Adjara regional Main Division of the Department, which has been “equipped in accordance with international standards”, the body added.

Along with Batumi, the unified service centres are found in capital Tbilisi and cities of Rustavi, Mtskheta and Gori, with the Ministry intending to launch them in other locations.
