Georgian, German defence agencies agree on future cooperation

The Georgian and German defence ministries discussed the current cooperation between the two countries and agreed on the future directions to “expand intensive ties” for 2024 in the field of defence at the meeting held in the Georgian Defence Ministry, the Ministry said on Saturday.

At the meeting, there was also stressed the role of Germany as “a special partner and leading state” in the process of developing Georgian Defence Forces, increasing the country’s defence capabilities and implementing the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package - a set of initiatives endorsed at the alliance’s 2014 Wales Summit.

The heads of relevant structural units of the Georgian Defence Ministry and Defence Forces, defence attachés and representatives of the international cooperation department of the German Armed Forces Office participated in bilateral consultations.
