Georgian team win first-ever medal at World Trampoline Championships

The Georgian national trampoline team has claimed a bronze medal with their first-ever podium finish at the World Trampoline Championships in Birmingham in the United Kingdom, the United Georgian Gymnastics Federation said on Monday.

The women’s team involving Luba Golovina, Anano Apakidze, Mariam Ragimov and Teona Janjgava managed to compete in the final stage of the event before taking the third place behind China and France.

This is a historic fact. For the first time in the history of independent Georgia, our team reached the final and won medals”, the Federation said in a social media message.

Over 1,000 gymnasts from more than 40 countries competed in the 37th edition of the Championships hosted at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham.
