Georgian Economy Minister, America Georgia Business Council members discuss bilateral economic relations

The bilateral economic relations and priority directions were discussed on Wednesday by Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili and Mamuka Tsereteli, the head of the America Georgia Business Council, as well as the US business delegation, who will participate in the upcoming Tbilisi Silk Road Forum.

The strategic partnership between Georgia and the US was highlighted at the meeting, with the officials stressing the importance of developing “closer” relations between the business circles of the two states, the Economy Ministry said.

The parties reviewed fruitful cooperation in finance, tourism, transport, healthcare and renewable energy, as well as real estate, information technology, etc. The Council’s efforts in establishing new connections and developing existing relations between the business sectors of Georgia and the US were also positively evaluated at the meeting.

The sides also reviewed the investments made from the US to Georgia, pointing out the country was the seventh largest investor in Georgia, and expressed readiness to continue and further activate the fruitful cooperation. 

The USAID’s support in updating Georgia’s export promotion agency - Enterprise Georgia’s portal was also noted, which will help exporters manage their activities and discover new markets for their products.
