Representatives of leading Saudi Arabian travel companies and the Flynas budget airline have visited Georgia’s Black Sea city of Batumi in a promotion of the locality’s visitor potential by the regional Adjara Tourism Department.
The Department said on Thursday the visiting group met with their Georgian counterparts to discuss cooperation and joint tour planning.
The tour hosting the travel company representatives also introduced them to the city’s infrastructure, as well as principal visitor sights and mountainous parts of the region.
The visiting group will promote Adjara as a four-season destination to Saudi visitors, the Georgian regional body added, noting recent statistics showed a 118 percent increase in visitor numbers from the country, as well as more flights carrying them to Batumi.
Last year Adjara hosted 500 journalists, bloggers, tourism industry officials and airline company representatives in the Department’s promotional campaigns.
