Georgian deputy interior and health ministers Aleksandre Darakhvelidze and Tamila Barkalaia on Thursday met female survivors within the ongoing 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence international campaign to provide them with information on their rights and public support services.

The Georgian health ministry cited Darakhvelidze as saying hearing views of female victims of violence on the issue had been of “great importance” in the meeting, adding it enabled responsible authorities and state bodies to have a “clear view” on their future steps in combating the issue.
