Interior ministry launches sexual abuse investigation after minor gives birth

The Georgian interior ministry has launched a sexual abuse investigation after a 12-year-old gave birth in a Tbilisi clinic, Interpressnews agency reported on Thursday.

Local media reports on Wednesday said the father of the newborn was also a minor.

A doctor at the city’s  First University Clinic told local media outlet ambebi.ge both mother and the newborn were in good health.
