Construction of Europe’s longest dual zipline begins in Georgia’s western Adjara region

A 1,750 metre-long zipline, the longest dual construction of the type in Europe, will be built in western Georgia’s Adjara region, with the regional tourism department revealing the news on Wednesday.

Set to be constructed on Chikhuri mountain in the highland areas of the Black Sea coastline region’s Shuakhevi municipality, the zipline will be situated 2,000 metres above sea level and create a new tourist attraction in the locality.

The department said while descending by the zipline from an eagle-shaped, 10-metre-long station, visitors would have an opportunity to see the “most beautiful panoramic views” of the mountain.

Adjara’s finance ministry has already announced the tender for the design and construction of the zipline.
Visitors of the Kolkheti National Park in Georgia’s west now have an opportunity to experience new zip line and rock-climbing attractions at the location, Georgia’s Agency of Protected Areas announced on Wednesday.
Visitors interested in canyon trips can now enjoy new infrastructure at western Georgia’s Kapnistavi Canyon, with waterfalls providing backdrop to adventure activities in the location.
Georgian Prime Minister and Chairman of the government of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze have announced five new tourism projects in Shuakhevi municipality, Adjara, with a total investment value of about 30 million GEL. Garibashvili said that implementing tourism projects of this type is 'vital for reviving the economy and attracting more tourists'.
Visitors and locals of Georgia's capital Tbilisi can now enjoy the scenery of the city's popular botanical garden from a bird's eye perspective after a zip line running above the park was launched at the location earlier today.
