Over 32,000 university applicants pass national exams

A total of 32,100 university applicants have passed the national exams for higher education in Georgia ahead of the start of the new academic year in the country.
The National Assessment and Examination Centre released results of the exams on Tuesday, noting the number of successful entrants had followed 41,000 registrations.
It also said 6,550 top university applicants had received full or partial state scholarships following the results of the exams.
The most popular programmes among the applicants were business administration, medicine, law and psychology.
Twenty-five inmates at Georgian penitentiary facilities, including six minors, have registered for the country’s ongoing university entrance exams, the Special Penitentiary Service of Georgia said on Monday.
University applicants living in Georgia’s Russian-occupied regions will be enrolled in universities without passing the Unified National Exams, reports the Georgian Ministry of Education.
More than 39,300 students have registered for the country’s university entrance test, the Unified National Exams, says the National Assessment and Examinations Center (NAEC). In addition, more than 12,600 candidates have registered for the Unified Master’s Exams.
The Ministry of Education and National Assessment and Examination Centre (NAEC) has presented new reforms regarding the Unified National Examinations today. Passing the general skills exam will no longer be compulsory. Universities have the right to add a selective examination relevant to the program, including a general skills exam.
