Hot and mostly rainless weather will remain across Georgia until Sunday, the National Environmental Agency warned the public on Monday.

Air temperature is expected to be within 35-40 degrees C in western Georgia, with 32-37 degrees in coastal areas and 31-36 in the eastern part of the country.

The Agency also noted strong winds, along with the high air temperature, were expected on the western Kolkheti plains, Zemo Imereti region and Black Sea coastal areas.

The same weather is forecast in central Georgia’s Gori-Surami area and some areas in mountainous regions, increasing the risk of wildfires in the affected localities, the national body said.
