Georgian, Armenian PMs inspect new bridge

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and his Armenian counterpart  Nikol Pashinyan inspected the newly unveiled Bridge of Friendship over the Debeda River near the Georgian-Armenian border after the official opening ceremony on Friday.

The bridge, located 60 kilometres from Georgia’s capital Tbilisi at the Sadakhlo-Bagratashen border crossing point,  was jointly built by the two countries with the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development . 

Dubbed a "unique cross-border project" in the region, one of its sections is located on the territory of Georgia while the other part is in Armenia, the Georgian Government Administration said, noting after the new, modern parameters of the bridge were put into operation, the quality of road safety will be improved for citizens of the two countries as well as for transit traffic.
