Georgian women’s wheelchair fencing team earned silver and bronze medals at the IWAS Wheelchair Fencing World Cup in Warsaw on Thursday.
Olympic athlete Irma Khetsuriani, ranked second in the world in the foil B category, claimed the silver in the division after conceding her final to Saysunee Jana of Thailand.
Her teammate Nina Tibilashvili - ranked seventh in the foil B section - followed the result up with a bronze, after reaching the semifinal against Hungary’s Eva Hajmasi, who took the win in the match.
Opened on Thursday, this year’s World Cup is set to close on Sunday, with 250 wheelchair fencers from over 30 countries involved.
