Major General Giorgi Matiashvili, the Chief of the Georgian Defence Forces, was part of a meeting of the European Union Military Committee on Wednesday in Brussels.
Held at the level of commanders of defence forces of EU member and partner countries, the gathering saw discussion of the EU Integrated Security and Defence Policy, the Georgian Ministry of Defence said.
The participating military representatives also reviewed EU-led international military missions and operations.
Matiashvili also discussed questions of bilateral cooperation and challenges with General Eduard Ohladchuk, the Chief of General Staff of the Moldovan National Army, at the event.
The Georgian commander attended the meeting at the invitation of General Claudio Graziano, the Chairman of the Committee.
