Police have arrested an individual for verbal and physical abuse of his wife and a minor family member, as well as for property damage, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia said on Thursday.
The state body said the offender had physically assaulted his wife on April 5, breaking her phone, locking her in his residential house, and preventing her from leaving until the following morning.
Investigators also found the abuser had physically assaulted his mother-in-law and a minor family member on the same day.
The MIA said the offender, identified only through his initials, had systematically abused his wife and threatened to kill her.
The offender is set to face 10 years in prison.
