The first offline private auction of NFT paintings illustrating the Ukraine war will be held in Georgia’s capital Tbilisi this week, with funds raised during the event to be used in support of the country under the ongoing Russian invasion.
The display will be hosted by Block Square Tbilisi, the venue forming a part of the NFT-powered MetaHistory Museum launched by Ukraine in cooperation with the country’s NFT community. The Tbilisi sale is set to run on Purtseladze Street in the capital.
Set to run between April 14-17, the event is set to include the creation of a token based on a tweet from the Formula TV channel about support for Ukraine among the Georgian public, with the NFT to be issued in a single copy with the price of at least Ξ2 ($6,500).
Additionally, the event will include a workshop for Georgian artists by their Ukrainian colleagues and a videocall with a representative of the MetaHistory Museum of War.

Organisers said entrance to the event would be free of charge between April 16-17 for all guests willing to participate in the open auction and offer their own price for NFT paintings. Funds raised at the occasion will be transferred to the crypto accounts of the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation.
The sale will be presented by Gigi Dedalamazishvili, a lead singer of the popular Mgzavrebi band and his wife, Marina Karpiy, a native Ukrainian. The event will be presented in English, organisers have also said.
Since the launch of the MetaHistory Museum, a total of 1,600 NFT paintings have been sold for a total of $800,000 in the primary market with the goal to “preserve the chronology” of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
