Officers of the Special Investigation Service have arrested two individuals for their assault on a crew of the opposition-minded Mtavari Arkhi TV channel in the western Georgian city of Zugdidi last month, Koka Katsitadze, the Head of the SIS, announced on Friday.
In the incident, which took place on March 18 outside the office of the Conservative Movement party in Zugdidi, about eight individuals wearing brass knuckles attacked Mtavari Arkhi reporter Ema Gogokhia and cameraman Zviad Ablotia.
Ablotia and Gogokhia received injuries in the assault, with the group also destroying the equipment used by the journalists in their work.
The offenders are set to face two years in prison.
