Russia’s war and aggression against Ukraine has already started to affect the Georgian economy, the European Union Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell said on Wednesday.
Hartzell said Georgian trade and tourism were affected by the hostilities in particular, and called the development “very unfortunate”.
The EU representative in the country said it was “important” to pursue reforms in Georgia and raise issues related to facilitation of their implementation.
Hartzell also welcomed the signing of an agreement between the Government of Georgia and the International Monetary Fund, noting the deal could ensure stability.
