Prospects for development of the successful cooperation between Georgia and Hungary were in focus at a meeting between the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and Ambassador of Hungary Anna Maria Siko on Thursday.
At the meeting, Georgia’s PM congratulated the Hungarian diplomat on her appointment and expressed hope for “fruitful” cooperation, adding Georgia “appreciates the significant contribution" of Hungary to the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia.
The sides also discussed bilateral relations in the fields of trade, tourism, transport and education,the Government's Administration said.
The Hungarian diplomat reaffirmed the country's “unwavering support” for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for its European and Euro-Atlantic integration process.
Garibashvili noted Georgia's hopes for "strong support" of international partners, including Hungary, in the process of the country's European Union membership bid.
