Alpine skier Nino Tsiklauri scored two podium results in two days at the German resort of Oberjoch after entering the International Ski Federation's competitions against local favourites.
The two third-placed finishes came to the Georgian skier on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Tsiklauri stopping the clocks with a time of 1:50.33 that put her 2.59 seconds behind Pauline Fischer and 1.23 adrift of Emma Aicher on the first day.
She followed the result up with another P3 finish earlier today with a combined time of 1:50.40, which proved a lot closer to the frontrunners. The Georgian was only 0.37 slower than Ronja Wiesler and 0.57 behind Aicher, who this time finished first on the slope.
Despite the podium result Tsiklauri said in her reaction she wasn't happy with the finishing position, having come to the giant slalom race "for the win".
The 27-year-old skier said "numerous minor mistakes" had contributed to the final spot on the scoresheet, calling the end result "disappointing" but vowing to "use the lesson positively for the next competition".
