The Georgian Ministry of Economy will help Georgian scientists commercialise their inventions through the Innovation and Technology Agency of Georgia, announces Economy Minister Natia Turnava.

We will help Georgian scientists to commercialise their scientific research and inventions. This is a very good bridge between science and business," said Turnava.

She said that nine different inventions have already been selected which were developed in the institutes of metallurgy, inorganic chemistry and geophysics, in addition to Georgian medical and agrarian universities.

Turnava said that this decision will help Georgian scientists find interested investors for their inventions and thus serve the national and global economy.

The Innovation and Technology Agency has already received financial and technical support from the European Union and the World Bank to implement a technology transfer pilot project, involving World Bank experts who, together with local experts, will evaluate projects and develop commercialisation plans.
