Nine winners were revealed in the latest of the annual Electronauts awards of the best of the Georgian electronic and experimental scene, with artists, releases and labels celebrated at the Georgian Film studios venue in Tbilisi for the 12th edition.
In the customary end-of-year awards ceremony, the brightest and most notable creatives, productions, music-related media projects and other nominees were singled out, with both recognised and new names presented to audiences and those tuning in to the event.
Erekle Getsadze, nominee for the past Electronauts awards for best live performance and album of the year, was again in the limelight, taking home the Electronaut XII prize. Recipient of the 2019 Best Score for Theatre Performance prize from Georgian Theatre Awards, Getsadze also earned the Best Album win for his release Frankfurt, which came out in late 2020.
Multi-genre singer, songwriter and composer Lua, who released the video for her recent song Hip Hip in October, was unveiled as this year's winner of the Z Artist category, while Yanamaste, a recognised name among techno enthusiasts on the Georgian scene and beyond, was handed the Best DJ prize in the ceremony.
The music video for Vneba from 4D Monster Lobsters featuring Tamada was picked in this year's Electronauts edition for the Best Video entry, with the band also getting their hands on the Best Track selection for I'm In Love With Your Cat.
Hideout's livestreamed performance Ellarge, featuring Zuricha, was honoured with the Best Livestream title, while Leno Records, which hosted the livestream and released Getsadze's prize-winning album, were themselves awarded in the Best Label category.
Rounding off the awards, organisers handed Mutant Radio, a platform that has featured the bulk of local music talent in its mixes, interviews and live shows, the Best Media prize.
The prize-giving ceremony featured performances from featured artists, with the creatives also set to be showcased in the New Year's Eve programme of Rustavi 2 TV later this month.
