US Senate Minority Leader Senator Mitch McConnell has thanked Georgia for ‘courage and firm stand’ against Russia at the meeting with the Ambassador of Georgia to the US Davit Bakradze.

Ambassador Bakradze has hosted members of the Republican National Lawyers' Association (RNLA) and Senator McConnell earlier today at the Embassy of Georgia to the US.

The Georgians have to stand up to the Russians very closely, including against the invasion and occupation that has been going on for almost 15 years. Nevertheless, there is no sentiment in the Georgian parliament towards Russia,” Senator McConnell stated.

We also have to deal with them, albeit remotely, which should be somewhat easier compared to living next door to them,” Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said.

Ambassador Bakradze thanked Senator McConnell for his ‘strong support’ of Georgia's sovereignty and the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, noting the importance of ‘the commitment and strategic partnership built on common values and interests between the two countries.’

Board member of the RNLA Reb Brownell also thanked Georgian Ambassador Bakradze for hosting the association.
