Zonal hourly parking will be introduced in Gldani, Samgori, Saburtalo districts and near Station Square starting August 1, Tbilisi City Hall reports.
There will be 132 paid public parking spaces in Gldani district, 748 – in Saburtalo district, 117 – in Samgori district and 286 parking spaces in the vicinity of the Station Square.
Municipal pavilions for car registration have already been placed in all four districts of Tbilisi.
Residents of these districts, people with disabilities and owners of electric vehicles can register their cars in the zonal parking system and receive the right to park their cars without charge.
Two avenues and a number of streets in Tbilisi's Saburtalo district will become the latest areas of the capital to adopt the metered zonal parking system starting next month, as the city hall moves to alleviate parking issues and promote public transportation use in the city.
Zonal hourly parking will be introduced in Tbilisi’s Vake district starting November 20.
Zonal hourly parking, which will be introduced on Pekini Avenue and nearby streets starting September 10, will be free for local residents, people with disabilities and owners of electric vehicles, said Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze earlier today.
Zonal hourly parking will be introduced in the central district of the Georgian capital of Tbilisi from August 1, announced Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze at today’s government meeting, delaying its implementation by one month.
The metered zonal parking system will be introduced in Mtatsminda, Chugureti and Didube districts of capital Tbilisi starting March 1, mayor Kakha Kaladze announced earlier today. Additional spaces for zonal hourly parking will be added in the Saburtalo district as well, Kaladze further added.
