The head of one of the factions in Ambrolauri City Assembly in western Georgia has been arrested for accepting a large bribe, the Anti-corruption Department of Georgia’s State Security Service reported earlier today.
The agency says that the detainee promised help to an individual in his construction business in Tbilisi and accepted 30,000 USD in advance yesterday.
The agency says that the detainee intended to take 140,000 USD in bribes.
Georgia’s State Security Service has detained a member of Tbilisi City Assembly, Georgian Dream ruling party majoritarian of the Krtsanisi administrative unit Temur Gorgadze.
The Investigative Service of the Finance Ministry announced today that heads of the financial-budgetary, infrastructural, urban development and architectural departments of one of the municipalities in the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region have been arrested.
