5,334 crimes were registered in Georgia in January 2020, which is 400 cases fewer compared to the same period of the last year. 1,314 of the cases have been resolved, the Georgian Interior Ministry told IPN news agency.
Of the crimes registered:
- 1,014 were violent or sexual offences, with 481 of these cases involving domestic violence. 262 of these cases have been solved.
- 299 cases involved homicide cases, 13 of the cases have been solved.
- 436 were vehicle crimes, including the violation of traffic rules (434).
- 313 involved crimes against human rights and freedoms. Three of the cases were concerned with trafficking.
- 1,998 were property crimes, of which 1,548 cases were robbery.
- 384 were drug crimes, and 287 were resolved.
- 180 were cyber crimes, with 48 white-collar crimes and one terrorism-related case.
