Newly appointed US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan has met with Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze today and stated that Georgia is dealing very well with the global crisis related to the new coronavirus – Covid-19.
Degnan also noted that since the global spread of the new coronavirus she has had to travel to several countries and it is obvious that ‘Georgia has really strong passenger control mechanisms at the airports’.
Georgia confirmed the fourth case of China-born coronavirus – Covid-19 today.
The infected individual is a Georgian citizen who came to the country from Italy on Sunday.
Two of the four Georgian citizens who tested positive for the virus travelled in Italy, while two others in Iran.
The Georgian Government has created a website - www.stopcov.ge - to inform citizens about preventative methods and provide information about measures taken by the government to prevent the spread of new coronavirus across the country.
