Georgia to host Snowboard Cross Europa Cup this weekend

Around 30 international snowboarders from about 12 countries will compete on the slopes of one of Georgia’s popular winter resorts Gudauri this weekend as part of the Snowboard Cross Europa Cup competition.
Organised by the International Ski Federation the Snowboard Cross Europa Cup will be held from February 29 – March 1 in Gudauri.

The competition will be held in parallel slalom (on February 29) and parallel giant slalom (on March 1).
As Georgia will host the 2023 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships, this weekend’s event is considered an important preparation.
Georgia’s winter destination Gudauri is set to host two International Ski Federation competitions over the next two weekends, with the Snowboard Cross Europa Cup and Ski Cross Freestyle to be held at the location.
Young Georgian skier Nika Eloshvili scored a podium finish in his first event outside the country on the weekend, finishing second in an International Ski Federation race in Zuberec.
Skiers from across Europe were on slopes of Kudebi in Gudauri, Georgia’s major winter destination, in a display of skill and talent for an International Ski Federation-sanctioned ski cross race.
