Georgian national basketball player George Tsintsadze has taken the International Basketball Federation's Assist of the Decade Award after his play in the team's 2015 EuroBasket game was voted as the greatest passing move of the last 10 years.

Tsintsadze earned over 57 percent of votes to finish first and ahead of Argentina's Facundo Campazzo in the poll that involved three rounds of contest in separate categories for men and women players.

The Georgian's assist in the European competition game against Lithuania five years ago won the poll for the 34-year-old after he also emerged as the winner in the first round against Serbia's Dusan Bulut and Round 2 against Spain's Marc Gasol. Tsintsadze won these rounds with 58 and 67 percent of votes respectively.

Imagine having the guts to throw this kind of a pass in a FIBA EuroBasket 2015 elimination game! Against Lithuania!? Between Mantas Kalnietis' and Jonas Valanciunas' heads!? Take a bow, G-Tsin!" - FIBA

The assist that earned the Georgian the prize came in the close game against Lithuania during the EuroBasket elimination match in Lille in September 2015. Surging into Lithuanians' free-throw lane in the third period of the fixture, Tsintsadze made an overhead pass behind his back to teammate Manuchar Markoishvili, who successfully completed the move.

Georgia lost the match in the closing minutes of the game with the final score 81-85, however Tsintsadze's impressive move has gone on to earn him the recognition of having been considered the best assist in FIBA-organised competitions of the last decade.

Among women, Argentina's Andrea Boquete won the award for her pass in last year's AmeriCup against Colombia, earning an overwhelming 86.59 percent of votes against USA's Diana Taurasi to take the honour.

The full brackets of the vote can be viewed on the official FIBA website.
