Lithuania lifts 14-day quarantine on arrival for Georgian citizens, residents

Georgian citizens and residents of the country will no longer be asked to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine on arrival in Lithuania.
Aurelijus Veryga, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Lithuania who is also State Commander of National Emergency Operations, made the decision to remove the requirement effective July 25.
The decision could become subject of review if pandemic situation in Lithuania worsens, the Embassy of Lithuania to Georgia said in an announcement on social media.
The Lithuanian embassy also began processing applications for travel visas to the country starting July 27.
The Lithuanian government has sent essential medical supplies to combat the coronavirus to Georgia, Armenia and Moldova.
Lithuania will allocate €100,000 for acquiring medical supplies made by Lithuanian companies as humanitarian assistance for Georgia, Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine to help the countries better combat coronavirus pandemic.
Georgia is opening its borders for travellers from five countries, announces PM Spokesman Irakli Chikovani after a meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council today. The government of Georgia is also negotiating with international airline companies to resume direct flights in Georgia. So far an agreement has been reached with Lufthansa which will start flights between Munich and Tbilisi starting August.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said the EU’s decision to include Georgia in the list of ‘green countries’ is ‘yet more proof’ of close partnership. Calling it an ‘important achievement’ Gakharia said 'it is the recognition of the success' of Georgia, Georgian people and its government in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
Individuals entering Georgia will have to spend eight days instead of 12 in quarantine in Georgia, said Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia today.
Lithuania has officially legalised Sakartvelo as the proper name of Georgia.
The Georgian and Lithuanian presidents met in Tbilisi earlier today and signed a declaration in which Lithuania reaffirmed its support for Georgia’s territorial integrity and the country’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda stated that Lithuania is ready to share its Euro-Atlatic experience with Georgia and help the country integrate into the EU and NATO.
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda visited the occupation line shortly after arriving in Georgia earlier today. EUMM Head of Mission Marek Szczygiel accompanied Nauseda to the village of Khurvaleti, at the occupation line which separates the Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region from the rest of Georgia. Szczygieł briefed Nauseda how the installation of barbed wire fences affect the daily life of locals and worsens the complicated humanitarian situation on the ground, the EUMM in Georgia has reported.
