2020 will be a special year as Tbilisi City Hall is planning a number of large projects to be carried out in Tbilisi announced Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze earlier today, noting that details about these projects would be provided in several days.
The Tbilisi budget 2020 has about 1.5 billion GEL ($0.52 bln/€0.47 bln), Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze noted, saying 1.245 billion GEL ($0.43 bln/€0.39 bln) will be spent on infrastructure and health and social care. He said that 270 million GEL ($93.5 mln/€84 mln) has been allocated from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and will be spent on developing public transport.
Tbilisi will be special, the most beautiful, the most orderly, the purest, the most comfortable, the greenest, we will definitely be able to do this,” said Kaladze.
Kaladze urged other officials and the governors of the local governments to pay attention to preventing corruption and warned them that it will not be forgiven as it is categorically not acceptable.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has stated that an agreement has been made with Tbilisi Minibus Company through which the outdated fleet will be replaced starting next year without an increase in fare.
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has presented 54 new buses for the capital, as Tbilisi City Hall has plans to completely replace the outdated bus fleet by the beginning of next year. 38 of the new vehicles are ISUZU, eight-meter buses, while the remaining 16 are MAN, 10-meter buses.The diesel buses are of Euro 6 standard which are equipped with wireless Internet, modern heating and conditioning systems, cameras, phone chargers and are fully adapted for people with disabilities.
