Georgia reports third coronavirus-related death

Georgia has reported a third coronavirus-related death today out of the 195 confirmed cases since February 26.
Head of Tbilisi Infectious Disease Hospital Tengiz Tsertsvadze said a woman, 86, suffered from the most severe form of pneumonia.
The doctors spared no efforts… I think [they did] much more than a human can do [to save her life], but [her health] conditions were incompatible with life”, Tsertsvadze stated.
Tsertsvadze said the woman remained in the intensive care unit for more than two weeks and was “the most critical patient” since the coronavirus outbreak in Georgia.
As of now, 46 individuals have recovered, two elderly women died of the virus during the weekend, while two infected foreign citizens left the country last month.
Georgia ranks 109th worldwide and 50th in Europe in terms of the spread of COVID-19 and mortalities caused by the coronavirus, which is the one of the best results across the globe, head of Tbilisi Hospital of Infectious Diseases Tengiz Tsertsvadze said. Georgia has had 195 cases of the coronavirus since February 2020. 39 of the 195 have recovered. Two of the 195 have died of the virus so far, while two others were foreign citizens who left the country last month.
All produce markets have been temporarily closed in the Georgian capital city of Tbilisi starting today in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
The Interagency Coordination Council, a body charged with orchestrating the response to the new coronavirus, will begin working remotely starting today and carry out sessions online to avoid gathering people as a measure against the spread of the new coronavirus.
The EU Delegation to Georgia and US Embassy have praised the efforts of Georgian health workers and others on World Health Day, which is marked today, expressing gratitude for their efforts in the fight against the coronavirus.
