Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani will travel to the United States on April 3-4.
In Washington DC Minister Zalkaliani will join the events on the sidelines of the NATO Foreign Ministerial dedicated to the seventieth anniversary of the Alliance.
Tomorrow Zalkaliani will discuss “Enlarging Security in the Neighborhood: The Legacy and Future of NATO Partnerships” together with the leaders of the NATO-member states at the "NATO Engages: the Alliance at 70" event is co-hosted by the Atlantic Council, the German Marshall Fund and the Munich Security Conference in partnership with NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division in Washington.

Minister Zalkaliani will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from the NATO-member states, representatives of the US government and parliament, including Congressman Gerry Connolly, who is also the Chairman of the US Delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
Officials and military commanders from Georgia and NATO converged to the a bilateral training venue outside Tbilisi to reaffirm common values and strategic partnership on the backdrop of the ongoing NATO-Georgia Exercise in the country.
Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani is paying a visit to Brussels, where he met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller at NATO headquarters today. He also spoke at a meeting of the NATO-Georgia Commission.
The Chairman of the NATO Military Committee has urged Russia to withdraw its troops from Georgia's occupied regions of Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) and Abkhazia, as the committee opened its meeting in Tbilisi earlier today.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg hopes Georgia can soon be welcomed into NATO, and praises the progress achieved by the country. He also urges Russia to withdraw its forces from Georgian territories.
US Senator Adam Kinzinger has requested advice from Executive Vice President of the Atlantic Council Damon Wilson for the US administrative on how they can oppose Russian aggression worldwide.
Rasmussen said that NATO member states “should move beyond offering warm words” about the democratic will of the Georgian and Ukrainian people, and acknowledge the disruptive role that “Kremlin paranoia is playing” in the accession process.
Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani said at a high-level event in London this afternoon that “NATO membership is Georgia’s top foreign policy priority”. FM Zalkaliani joined a discussion on the sidelines of the NATO Leaders Meeting in London.
