Georgian police detain Azerbaijani man wanted by Interpol

The Georgian Interior Ministry has detained an Azerbaijani citizen who has been wanted by Interpol since February 2019 for fraud.

The man, born in 1963, was detained near the Holiday Inn hotel in central Tbilisi yesterday.

The offence is punishable by five to ten years in prison.

The Georgian Interior Ministry reports that they are “closely and successfully” cooperating with Interpol.
