Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili spoke of the importance of boosting local business at the eastern Georgian region of Kvemo Kartli.
The agricultural economy powers regions like #KvemoKartli, where I spent some time at a tomato nursery ???? in the village of Damia. Like we discussed this morning with @MalmstromEU, bringing small and medium businesses into the #EU market will boost our regional economies. pic.twitter.com/IIrAnQDwVm

She said her visit aims to better familiarize with the situation in the region and to further support its cultural and tourism potential.
Across Georgia’s Kvemo Kartli region, ethnic Georgian, Azerbaijani, and Armenian kids study together in schools like the one I visited today in Tamarisi. Georgia has long been a peaceful home to many ethnicities living in peace and harmony”, Zurabishvili wrote on her official Twitter page.
