Georgian singer Oto Nemsadze will represent Georgia at the Eurovision song contest in 2019.
He earned the opportunity after winning on a popular TV show Star of Georgia on March 3 and was granted the right to sing on behalf of Georgia at the contest.
Eurovision 2019 will be held in Israel, Tel-Aviv on 14, 16 and 18 May.
Ethno-Jazz band Iriao represented Georgia in 2018 but did not succeed in making it to the semi-final.
Georgia’s ethno jazz band Iriao have revealed the official video for their bid at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest at which the group will perform in May in Lisbon, Portugal.
For the first time, the Eurovision Song Contest will feature a performance in Georgian, as the ethno jazz band Iriao is set to represent the country at the televised event in Lisbon later today.
Musician Tornike Kipiani will represent Georgia at the Eurovision song contest in 2020. This year’s Eurovision will be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in mid-May, with 41 participating countries, including Georgia.
Award-winning musical artists will come together for this year’s Jansug Kakhidze International Music Festival in Tbilisi to celebrate the legacy of the famous Georgian composer and conductor.
Georgia’s Mariam Bigvava finished third at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan on Sunday. Bigvava, 11, earned 161 points from the jury after a performance of the song I believe, composed by producer Giga Kukhianidze, with judges from Poland and Armenia giving the highest 12 points to the singer.
