Georgian FM: Munich Security Conference will be ‘maximally used’ for pushing forward Georgian issues

Decision-makers from all over the world will gather in Munich to discuss the most challenging security issues.

Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani has stated that the upcoming Munich Security Conference, the world’s largest gathering of its kind, will be maximally used for pushing forward Georgian issues.

It is one of the highest level international conferences and the Georgian delegation will maximally raise the Georgian issues in all the formats during the event,” Zalkaliani said.

He stated that Georgia’s role in Black Sea security, its geopolitical location and successful reforms will be particularly in focus.

The conference will run between 15-17 February in Bavaria, Munich, and is expected to host an “unprecedented number of international decision makers,” the conference web page reads.

More than 35 heads of government and heads of state, as well as 50 foreign and 30 defence ministers are expected to be present.

The Georgian Prime Minister will lead the Georgian delegation at the conference.
