Gov’t allocates 20mln GEL for prevention of natural disasters

The Georgian government has approved the Natural Disaster Prevention Programme for which 20 million GEL will be allocated from the state budget.

The funding of any one project must not exceed one million GEL.

Projects must meet a mandatory criteria to receive funding.

They should provide detailed  plans on how to prevent natural disasters in certain areas or how to decrease damage in the case of a disaster.

The projects will include plans to clean riverbeds from waste, set up of drainage systems and pipes, protection walls, bridge passages and others.
