Georgian and Ukrainian Prime Ministers meet to deepen economic ties

Georgian and Ukrainian Prime Ministers have met today in Kyiv, Ukraine to deepen economic and trade ties. 

Transport and investment development perspectives were also discussed at the meeting.

[The Georgian government] is ready to work every day to ensure that economic cooperation between Ukraine and Georgia will bring even more results to our citizens," said Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia at the meeting.

Honcharuk noted that the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade has been working to increase cargo turnover between the two  countries. 

He noted that in this field it will be better to develop transport in the direction of Poti-Odessa especially taking into consideration the fact that Ukraine is working with Poland to develop infrastructure which will connect the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea.

[Ukraine] will do its best to increase trade between our countries, increase the number of tourists, deepen and develop our economic relations,” said Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk.

Honcharuk noted that the development of relations in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) is important for Ukraine and Georgia in order to move forward faster to the integration in European Union. He noted that by working together Georgia and Ukraine can do a lot and expressed readiness for cooperation.
