International SOS names Georgia a low-risk travel country

International SOS, the world’s leading medical and travel security risk company, has published its annual travel risk map, on which Georgia is among low-risk travel destinations in the world in terms of road safety, security and medical services.

International SOS rates the safety risks as “low” in Georgia, which means that quality medical care is available throughout the country, specialist care, emergency and dental services and quality prescription drugs are widely available and there is a low risk of infectious diseases.

Azerbaijan and Armenia, along with Georgia, are among the countries of low risk in the region.

Russia is included as a medium-risk country on the list.

Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Slovenia, Luxembourg and Switzerland are the safest countries in the world to travel.

Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Somalia and Syria are the most life-threatening countries.
