Heavy rain and landslides hits Black Sea region of Adjara

Heavy rain has caused flood and landslides in Georgia’s black sea region of Adjara. About 60 calls were made to Georgia’s Emergency Service.
Most of the calls were mainly about flooding the first floors of yards and houses, the Emergency Service reports.
The heavy rain caused flooding of the river Mejinistskali, the nearby streets were flooded.
Citizens were evacuated throughout the night. The rescue boat, along with other equipment was involved in the evacuation process.
Georgia’s Emergency Service reports that two landslides have fallen in Adjara region.
No one was injured in the accidents.
Several villages in the Kobuleti Municipality in the coastal Adjara region were drastically flooded. Small village rivers swell over their riverbeds, flooding nearby roads and sweeping away a bridge connecting two villages.
Up to 1,500 families have lost electricity due to a heavy landslide in Georgia’s Black Sea region of Adjara last night.
Georgia’s western Adjara region is calculating the damage caused by bad weather and heavy rain, which resulted in several landslides.
A powerful storm is lashing Georgia’s western Adjara and Guria regions where heavy rain and wind is causing havoc on infrastructure.
