Under 2019-2021 Gasification Action Plan, the number of districts to be gasified will increase to 300, including about 60 settlements in the Imereti region, west Georgia, announces the Ministry of Economy.
About 9,000 families in Zestafoni municipality, in the Imereti region of western Georgia, will receive access to gas by March 2020.
The goal of the three-year gas plan is to ensure the supply of gas to settlements where the gas supply has never been available before.
"Gasification is an additional opportunity for the residents of these villages to develop their small businesses, including opening family hotels...", said Economy Minister Natia Turnava today at the meeting with residents of village Zeda Kldeeti in Zestafoni municipality.
The installation of gas lines in the village of Zeda Kldeeti, is conducted by the Georgian Gas Transportation Company. This project also includes the villages of Kveda Kldeeti, Tabakini and Tvrini in Zestafoni municipality.
The cost of installing gas infrastructure for the four villages is about 2.1 million GEL ($0.71 mln/€0.64 mln).
Over 200 million GEL ($67.7 mln/€61.1 mln) will be allocated from the state budget for the 2019-2021 Gasification Action Plan.
