Georgian PM: meeting of Georgian-Russian FMs was in sync with our foreign partners

Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia says that yesterday’s meeting between Georgian and Russian foreign ministers was welcomed and accepted by Georgia’s international partners. 

I hope that this meeting at the UN General Assembly headquarters will contribute to solving the most complex problems between Georgia and Russia,” Gakharia said. 

He stated that the international law and close cooperation with  foreign partners are the only way to solve the occupation problem,adding that pragmatic and peaceful policy is essential to address the occupation issue.  

Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani and Russian FM Sergay Lavrov met on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York yesterday.

The meeting was mediated by Switzerland.
