Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia has met with the First Vice President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Jürgen Rigterink and noted the key role of the EBRD in the development of Georgia.

The importance of joint projects in the fields of energy, agriculture and the private sector were noted as one of the major influencers in the sustainable development of the Georgian economy.

The important role of the EBRD was also mentioned in energy efficiency and education projects, as well as in projects which support human capital development.

To date we have [carried out] €3.4 billion in investments [in Georgia] and 235 projects, that’s truly impressive and it actually makes Georgia [for EBRD] the country with the highest investments per capita”, said Rigterink.

Rigterink invited the Prime Minister Gakharia to the EBRD Eastern Partnership Summit which will be held in London in November this year.
