A total of 28,740 university entrants out of 41,000 registered have passed the Unified National Examinations, the common national exams for higher education.

The National Assessment and Examination Centre (NAEC) of Georgia released the results of exams yesterday, saying that 6,546 top entrants have received the full or partial state scholarship, in particular:

  • 1,011 entrants got 100 percent scholarship
  • 1,452 entrants got 70 percent scholarship
  • 4,083 entrants got 50 percent scholarship

The most popular programs among the entrants were business administration, law and medicine, as NAEC reports.

In 2005 Georgia replaced the old Soviet system of university entrance exams by a new model, which is still considered to be one of the most successful reforms in the country’s education system.
