The situation remained tense near the occupation line with Tskhinvali yesterday as de facto South Ossetian officials called on Georgia to dismantle the police checkpoint by 6 am of August 30 in the village of Chorchana, close to occupied village of Tsnelisi.
However, the members of the Georgian government, de facto officials from Tskhinvali region as well as representatives of Russian occupation forces met at noon today in Tsnelisi to discuss the issue.
Although Georgian officials unanimously said the police checkpoint will not be dismantled, de facto president of occupied Tskhinvali Anatoly Bibilov stated that this demand remains unchanged and negotiations will continue.
