Georgian citizen awarded Obama Foundation scholarship for first time

Tamar Gabruashvili, an employee of the Revenue Service of the Georgian Finance Ministry, has been awarded the scholarship of a foundation established by ex US President Barack Obama.

Tamar Gabruashvili was selected by the Obama Foundation team out of several thousand applicants and was shortlisted afterwards.

The Obama Foundation will fully finance Tamar Gabruashvili’s Master’s degree at the University of Chicago, at the Harris School of Public Policy.

This is a special achievement and honour to me to have a scholarship from the Obama Foundation,” Tamar Gabruashvili said.

I have been given an opportunity to develop my career plan with the support of Barack and Michelle Obama and their team who always inspired me,” she added.

The Obama Foundation provides leaders of younger generations with scholarships. The foundation is aimed at finding and supporting young, dynamic and extraordinary leaders.
