Georgian President congratulates Lithuania’s president-elect on victory

President of Georgia Salome Zurabishvili has congratulated Gitanas Nauseda on his victory in the presidential elections of Lithuania.
As Zurabishvili said in her twitter post, Georgia and Lithuania are strong partners.
I look forward to working with him”President Zurabishvili posted on twitter.
She also added that the already strong ties between the two countries will be further developed.
Former banker Gitanas Nauseda won Lithuania’s presidential election on Sunday.
55-year-old Nauseda received 72 percent of the votes.
The visitors of Lithuania’s capital city Vilnius can now walk on Georgians Street – Kartvelu Street from now on.
Lithuania has made a historic decision and changed Georgia’s name in its language.From now on, the official title of Georgia will be Sakartvelo, not Gruzija.
Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze stated that his country is eager to share in the Lithuanian experience in terms of start-ups.
"Our special relations are proved by the milestones celebrated last year - the 100th anniversary from the establishment of the First Democratic Republic of Georgia and the 100th Anniversary of Regained Statehood of Lietuva. Besides, our nations are now referred to by their authentic names - Sakartvelo and Lietuva,” Bakhtadze said, during apress conference with his Lithuanian counterpart Saulius Skvernelis.
The new President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda said that his country “consistently supports” sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and condemns resumption of “borderisation” process on occupied territories. Gitanas Nausėda made remarks during his meeting with the Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, who paid a visit to Vilnius on August 22.
