Georgian freestyle wrestler Geno Petriashvili is leading in the rating of the United World Wrestling (UWW) in the 130 kg category.
UWW, the international governing body for the sport, named Petriashvili 2016 Best Freestyle Athlete.
The Georgian athlete is followed by Zhiwei Deng (China), Anzor Khirziev (Russia) and Taha Akgul (Turkey).
- Petriashvili is a two-time world bronze medalist and a bronze medal winner at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games;
- He won European title in 2016 as well as two bronze medals at the European championships in 2013 and 2017;
- The Georgian athlete also won a bronze medal at the European Games in 2015.
All nine Georgian freestyle wrestlers under 23, who participated in the Bulgarian International Tournament last week, won gold medals.
