A total of 28 projects have been completed in six Georgian municipalities through a government programme that aims supporting rural development.
The rural communities of 3,700 villages all over the country decided with the government what projects were most important for their particular area.
The city councils approved 4,801 projects selected by the majority of the population’s votes and have already concluded contracts for 435 ones out of which 28 projects were conducted.
The six municipalities where the projects were carried out are:
Outdoor lighting system, drainage and water communication were renovated in the municipalities.
The cemeteries were also put into order, gravel was placed on the roads.
The programme resumed on January 1, 2019 after a two-year pause and will continue until 2020.
The project budget was doubled on February 1, reaching 40 million GEL.
